Case Studies

During the catastrophic floods in 2019, an ethanol producer’s railcars were embargoed for 10 days. Strobel Energy Logistics was able to provide next-day transload services which allowed the producer to load railcars in-place and continue fermentation and distillation processes while their facility was shut down.

A planned refinery turn-around had an impending 6-week shortfall in diesel supply for their customers. Strobel Energy Logistics set up a rail terminal supplied with diesel from two of the customer’s other refineries. Strobel provided custody transfer metering of the transloading from tank cars directly into third-party trucks. The refinery met all diesel commitments during the turnaround.

Strobel Energy Logistics has provided comprehensive rail operations support to an established Texas refiner - exporting over 2 million gallons of gasoline and diesel per week to Mexico by rail.

We Design & Build Transloaders

The most important distinction between Strobel Energy Logistics and competitors in the marketplace is that we design and build transloaders for customers. Strobel maintains a fleet of transloaders for immediate deployment and can also build units for custom applications when needed.

The Strobel standard transloader is autonomous – it is not dependent on electric or other utility connections and the variable speed pumps can produce throughput of 350 to 600 gpm. This allows for the loading of a 10,000 gallon cargo tank in under 20 minutes dispatched with a temperature and gravity- corrected bill of lading based on custody- transfer suitable metering directly at the transloader. The units have the highest level of safety in the industry with a Class I, Div II electrical classification in the pump room as well as flammable vapor sensors wired into both the control and emergency systems.

Each transloader operator has direct access to the Strobel technical team for trouble shooting, maintenance, and repair. If in-terminal support is required, Strobel Energy Logistics has field service staff ready to perform factory repair or upgrades.

“Faced with some significant mechanical equipment issues at one of our Mexico terminals, I needed a fast solution. My first call was to Strobel Energy Group, a contractor I trust – with a proven performance record. With their Engineering and Project Management teams, they were able to promptly and accurately diagnose the issues we were having. Strobel then quickly fabricated new parts, shipped them to Mexico, and mobilized a team to our site to make the necessary modifications and get our equipment operating correctly.”
